Do the new songs sound anything like Mylo Xyloto? That was the last album I really enjoyed from them. Hurts Like Heaven is still a classic
I don't really think either of the songs sound like Mylo Xyloto, but I would say if you had been a fan of their music before you should definitely give the songs a chance. I find them both to be highly enjoyable, and I am a huge MX fan. Some days I think it is the best Coldplay album, and it may be the one I enjoy the most.
I was def worried about a bunch of white dudes making a song called Arabesque but it's very good and with the message I kinda get why they did it
53 minutes doesn't sound like very long for a double album, but it seems like the split is way more about how the music is versus just strictly on length. More of a creative decision. I am pretty excited about the two 8-song album format, even moreso after hearing both of these songs.
I'm so out of the loop, do people still make U2 comparisons w/ this band? 'Cause these songs do give me pretty big U2 vibes (in a good way). Feel like I always get into every other Coldplay album (Rush of Blood, Viva la Vida, Ghost Stories), & based on these couple tracks, that trend may continue. Though, the usage of Arabic as aesthetic feels in poor taste, unless I'm missing something?
I took it to mean the third (or first - click the arrow to reveal all three) definition here when I first saw the song title. https://www.google.com/search?sourc...hUKEwin1KPDjb3lAhUBd6wKHdewBVMQ4dUDCAg&uact=5
I revisited A Head Full of Dreams the other day. Not as bad as I remember. Some really good songs that are overproduced, alongside some really bad songs and a few unnecessary interludes. Could have been a good album under slightly different circumstances. Judging by the singles from this one, they're on the right track.
Just listened to Orphans from the video and there was something really welcoming about it. Didn't think I missed Coldplay and then I heard that song and it makes me want to revisit all of their previous albums and get really into them for this new release.
