I love how they can go from Everyday Life to this. It's an imperfect analogy, but if Everyday Life was a (semi) return to the Parachutes sound, than this sounds like a return to Mylo. I'll always look forward to what these guys are doing, really digging this.
So is this confirmed as just a one-off? I agree with all of the Mylo comparisons and that album f-in rules
There better be an album. The world has never needed it more, especially if it’s another soaring pop record.
dunno if this is still current info but earlier this year an album titled Music of the Spheres was teased: Coldplay reportedly working on new album called 'Music Of The Spheres'
i like mylo decently, it's just not in my top tier for them. but hurts like heaven is objectively a bop.
This is a really fun song, definitely has the Max Martin touch. Reminds me a lot of “Blinding Lights”
It’s definitely working its way into my brain. No way in heck this isn’t the start of a rollout, they just did a full takeover of American Idol. I’ve only seen them do a festival set, would love to experience the communion of a Coldplay show once it’s safe.
I saw them on their last tour and it felt like a festival set. They've got to the point where they have so many hits that they need to play, there's little wiggle room for deep cuts. I had a good time but was also a bit bummed
That video was awesome. I love seeing bands and artists just have fun and there were shots of all 4 of them genuinely having a great time. Also, made me realize that this will be the premiere song in and out of commercial breaks for the Olympics this year haha
don't really love the new song but it's got me digging through the deep cuts which is always nice "42" is their best song yeah? yeah cool
y'all wild, Jonny's guitar part when the song kicks off?? absolutely rips to be fair there aren't really weak songs on that album
My only real gripe with Viva is that they didn't put the full "Life in Technicolor" on there. Could have been their "Where the Streets Have No Name."
Definitely think of that album as an album. Not a ton of strong singles, outside arguably their biggest single ever haha.
it's such a complete album, "Lost!" is the only song I don't like that much and its still hard to imagine the album without it I also prefer "Technicolor" as is honestly. sorry Chris but the instrumental vibe is too nice
"Shiver", "The Scientist", "Fix You", "Strawberry Swing", "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall", "A Sky Full of Stars" my favs.
