A Head Full of Dreams is the only record I don’t enjoy. Everyday Life had some cool songs, but overall it didn’t do much for me.
Dreams is probably their weakest record but I got to see them twice on that tour and those songs were definitely elevated in a live setting.
Yes have to agree with AHFOD. So over produced. Having said that, my only Coldplay live experience was on that tour and it did make me appreciate the songs more in a live context.
I'll still take AHFOD over Everyday Life any day. It wasn't the most consistent album but had a good bunch I really liked, I never return to anything from EL.
I really liked Everyday Life a lot, save for a few tracks. Didn't think it really needed to be a double album, but that's neither here nor there. I couldn't even get all the way through this song. Woof.
Fun song! Sounds like an electronic progression from Mylo Xyloto or a major key tape on the more electronic songs from Ghost Stories. We could all use a little dancing after last year.
new song rocks. perfect dumb guy 80s jam hitting just in time for the summer. hyped for the new record
Love, love, LOVE this track! It's still kinda reminding me of Peter Gabriel. Not as much as some songs on Everyday Life did (Trouble in Town specifically), but you can definitely pick up the influence. I love the aesthetics here and the production is super clean. Honestly really hyped for this album.
Doesn't hold a candle to my favorite stuff from them but I'll take this over pretty much anything from the last couple albums. Good song.
Yeah I am digging on this. First listen through it was just sort of there, but by second and third listen already catching some nice melodies and those 80s pop vibes. Also reminds me of a progression from Mylo Xyloto as well. Can't believe that has been 10 years already!
That song is so propulsive. One of several Mylo Xyloto songs that sounds like a space shuttle blasting off into the fucking sun. I don't know why people don't like that album.
No respect for anyone who dislikes Mylo. Seeing that live was probably my favorite concert experience.
Mylo is def top 3 for me. Sequencing is weird as hell at times and I'm not super big on "Paradise" or "Princess of China" but I love the whole aesthetic they committed to visually and sonically. "Hurts Like Heaven" and "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" are two of their best ever tracks imo
