They were the main feature on the Spotify Rock playlist the week the song came out, so it charting well is not too surprising. Stoked for them
He’s a Coheed fanatic and he probably wouldn’t disagree about that Shinedown album. That said, I know what he means. It’s good but it does have a bit of a generic, modern-rock sound to it.
coheed have been toying with that sound since 2005 though it should be expected from at least one of the singles every album cycle
IKS Island NWFT Shoulders The Suffering / Toys (seem to be swapping this one out) Devil in Jersey City Jessie’s Girl 2 Favor House Atlantic The End Complete The Final Cut Unheavenly Creatures Welcome Home Honestly super weird return set list lol. The end complete and the final cut aren’t exactly staples, and Jessie’s Girl felt like a throwaway song on release.
aw why not play the suffering AND toys? both are so good id be happy with that set. yeah jesses girl 2 was kind of a gimmick song to release but im sure its a blast live.
Shoulders has now reached 25 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart, now tied with their previously highest charting song Welcome Home.
Play Suffering and Toys by swapping out Jesse's Girl and that's actually a dope setlist imo. I would miss Old Flames but otherwise I'm into it. The End Complete would make me lose my shit, that songs rips.
Honestly, they could play literally any other song in their catalogue instead of Jessie’s Girl 2 and it would be an improvement to that set list. Lol
Being surprised by The End Complete would have been awesome. The transition from End Complete from Final Cut. (I think I've listened to Jessies Girl 2 once. Just didn't go back to it is all. Need to listen again)
Descension and Ascension are still my two favorite Coheed records. So good start to finish. Really like how the band experimented with different sounds on those two.
