I don’t know how many times I’ve seen them play it live but the chanting when the band kicks back in gives me goosebumps every time
The amount of times I’ve watched this is unfathomable. One of the few bands I’ve loved a long time that I haven’t seen. Fingers crossed it’ll happen soon!
currently doing a discog run where I listen to all their first songs on the albums (full songs... Time Consumer, IKS, Welcome Home, etc) and good grief this band sure knows how to open an album. Even the albums that aren't my favorite have great openers. The Broken and Island are great.
I've been listening to The Unheavenly Creatures a lot lately and I would very much like new music from these guys soon.
Also been on a Coheed kick this last week. Took Good Apollo on a run last night. The Willing Wells always hit more than I remember. The "Run rabbit run" part felt literal and really helped out.
Drinking The Beast this morning and it’s super dark and delicious. A touch of milk makes it super chocolatey.
For some reason Vaxis didn't click with me when it came out, but I've been listening to it a ton this past week and yeah it's as awesome as everyone says, and definitely as good as the rest of their material. Idk what was wrong with me
My only complaint with Vaxis 1 is that it's a bit samey. I don't know if the album needed Love Protocol, the Pavilion, AND Night-time Walkers. They're all good but they're all also pretty similar.
Those are 3 of my favorites, haha. I don't feel like Night-Time Walkers sounds like Pavilion or Love Protocol. Love Protocol sounds like an Afterman song and Pavilion sounds like TCBTS if TCBTS was better.
I will say Vaxis is VERY chorus dependent. Every song has a huge chorus which makes them similar from a structural standpoint. I feel like Black Sunday is one of the few that really breaks the mold there.
