Gonna be interesting to see the sound of the new album. I’m hoping for some epic 7-8 minute songs similar to iks and end complete. Last album had its moments, but they are capable of so much more
Wonder if we're gonna get something on Friday. The teaser did have the Jason mask and this Friday is the 13th
so what are we hoping for soundwise here? i think i like the poppier stuff more now that i'm removed from color but i'm good to go back to some heavy shit
It's going to be eclectic and all over the spectrum as every Coheed record is, but I suspect this one will lean a little heavier, yes
I hate to read too much into signing with Roadrunner, but I really think it would have to be a darker, heavier album for them to think that was a good fit.
Just give me complicated Coheed. TCBTS had some appeal but they don't do straightforward nearly as well as they do complex. And there'd better be some damn guitar solos this time.
This dude on reddit put up a lot of awesome material. Unfortunately he still has the stuff up that can be easily bought, but I'm posting to highlight the cool demos and live recordings. Coheed and Cambria Discography • r/TheFence EDIT: this has the demos from Good Apollo that were only officially released on the Neverender Tour as a tape. A few of them have been floating around for a while, but some of them I've never heard.
I'm just hoping they minimize their use of the the pop-song formula that was so prevalent on TCBTS. Almost every song was verse, chorus, half verse, chorus, bridge, chorus.
I’m hoping for heavy . Hard to tell, but whatever they do I’m sure it will be better than 99.5% of everything else out there. They are just that freaking talented
to be honest I'm with this pretty much. they've earned so much goodwill from me at this point that they could do basically anything and I would probably be thrilled. a lot of people talk about wanting more heavy stuff like it's far and away the best kind of music they make when that's not even necessarily true
I agree. They are 1 of the best bands around and seen to be just great people. Super friendly when I got to meet them. Every time I see them in concert I’m blown away with how good they sound and their stage show
I would honestly be most excited by an acoustic driven album from Coheed. Pearl of the Stars, Peace to the Mountain, Mother Superior, Light & Glass And Iron Fist are all top tier Coheed songs for me. I feel they’ve done the dark and heavy thing most of their career. And while I’ll be excited for whatever this is, I would be most excited for something in the vein of their acoustic centered songs. I realize that’s incredibly unlikely, but this is my fantasy so idgaf.
See I feel like those songs are so good because they work so well contextually, compared to a lot of their other songs. I know you probably like me but a full ablub would sound similarly to Prize Fighter
I mean I'm not gonna lie and say I don't prefer them going heavier but I like everything they have put out. Here for it, whatever it is.
