Yes to all of this. Number City and Evagria are two of my favorite Coheed songs. They are so groovy and such absolute bops

Vic The Butcher is the song that sold me on coming back to them after losing interest in the band

We reach for the longest shadow

Vic the Butcher is a YOTBR song that actually has good energy.

Has this world stopped asking what it's thinking?

It's definitely latin-influenced. Borderline afro-cuban ala Paul Simon Grandland-era. As a drummer and aspiring bassist, "Evagria" is very much my jam for the rhythm section alone.

"Vic The Butcher" is a slayer. Travis' noisey leads really shine on that one.

Claudio is on record saying Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine are big influences. I hear it on Number City and Evagria.

    No Fun. Not Ever.

At this point, I may listen to them more than the studio albums.

So I've been reading about the Amory Wars story since I've fallen back in love with this band and I started with the Afterman albums. This is a very cool, interesting, and sad story. Very glad I bought the hardback ultimate editions of SSTB and IKS five years ago in a comic store now too

You are missing junesong provision . Also, what about atlas???

  19. Deathco_019

    Drummer

Yeah Junesong isn't on there and probably wouldn't be in my top 30 if I cared to make one. Atlas barely missed the cut

We reach for the longest shadow

*SUPPOSEDLY* the next album will have to do with Claudio (from the story, the Crowing) and Sirius meeting after Claudio destroyed the world.

I hardly know the Amory Wars story (outside of YOTBR since I bought the deluxe edition with the novel) but I do want to look into the comics.

So since I'm obsessed with this band right now I decided to put together my dream setlist that covers their entire discography. It looks like the usually play about 15 songs on headlining tours because a lot of their songs are so long. I haven't listened to mine yet because I just made it while bored at work, but here's what it looks like.

    1. Sentry The Defiant
    2. Gravemakers & Gunslingers
    3. Here We Are Juggernaut
    4. Delirium Trigger
    5. Three Evils
    6. The Crowing
    7. Blood Red Summer
    8. Everything Evil
    9. Evagria The Faithful
    10. No World For Tomorrow
    11. The Suffering
    12. Domino The Destitute
    13. In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3

    Encore:
    14. Atlas
    15. Welcome Home

Video is called Call Your Mother, maybe we hear something on Mother's Day in around a month? That teaser sounds DARK.
