I don’t feel like the songs were there though on YOTBR. Here We Are Juggernaut and Far are standouts but it’s a very proggy/Chris Pennie blur apart from those two, nothing to sing along to
When Skeletons Live is the biggest victim of production. I want to hear that song live and/or re-recorded so badly. Juggernaut, Far, Made Out of Nothing all rule. I’m also a big fan of In the Flame of Error. I really wish they’d revisit that album.
The Broken, Here We Are Juggernaut, Far, World of Lines, Made Out of Nothing, Pearl of the Stars, and The Black Rainbow are all very good or outright great songs
YOTBR is mostly interesting to bordering great, and I've talked about my qualms with the closer, but I'd rather listen to it any day than TCBTS right now. Last time I put that one on I didn't even make it all the way through Eraser before switching to something else.
Finally getting around to watching this and having a blast. As a drummer, Josh is a big inspiration to me and his playing is so unique and fun. Love to see him in this environment and I am so happy to see him spotlighted.
agreed with this. the production is bad, but the songs arent there either. they clearly went into the album trying to make a proggy album with some heavy handed industrial influences. but they forgot to write catchy songs. The Broken is awesome. Here we are Juggernaut is alright. everything else is forgettable to me.
Put on IKSSE: 3 a few days ago while staying late at work to grade and it's such a time machine album. Just immediately 2004 again when that album lit me on fire. Still the perfect balance of metal, prog, and pop.
I'll never forget listening to that album for the first time in a tent at a lake we were camping at for Labor Day weekend that year. Magical time
