I think it's funny that they themed a lot of the merch around the Joke, and the artwork was apparently the backdrop before they took the stage... And then left it off the setlist in favor of Blindside Sunny debut.
Josh Eppard in the Drumeo studio where he discusses his career with Coheed And Cambria, and performs some songs!
Saw Coheed in Sioux Falls last night and they were excellent. Only bummer was even though it was a co-headliner, they still played a half hour less than Primus. They leaned into the 8-min prog songs which are great, but I prefer the lean 3-4 minute tunes more like the Suffering, Feathers, Devil in Jersey City, etc. Still great to see them though. Primus was great too, but they did that thing that I hate where they noodle and jam around on a deep cut for 10+ minutes and then proceed to do a short medley of the fan favorites. Gotta love it lol.
Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV: Volume Two: No World for Tomorrow 1. Feathers 2. Gravemakers & Gunslingers 3. The Hound (Of Blood and Rank) 4. No World for Tomorrow 5. The Running Free 6. The End Complete III: The End Complete 7. The Reaping 8. The End Complete IV: The Road and the Damned 9. Justice in Murder 10. The End Complete II: Radio Bye Bye 11. The End Complete V: On the Brink 12. The End Complete I: The Fall of House Atlantic 13. Mother Superior The top 6 or so are ace but the rest just ranges from good to kinda weak for me. It took me a while to do this one because I wanted to give it time to grow on me but some sections actually became less enjoyable the more I listened and I don't think any of this hits like their best stuff for me. Current Ranking In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV: Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness The Second Stage Turbine Blade Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV: Volume Two: No World for Tomorrow This is easily my least favourite so far, I appreciate that they're still exploring new sounds but it just doesn't work for me nearly as much as the first three. I still go back and forth between IKS and GA1, they're about even but today I'm feeling IKS more. I'm gonna finally listen to Year of the Black Rainbow now and I'll probably be back in another few months.
off the cuff: 1. No world for tomorrow 2. Justice in murder 3. radio bye bye 4. Feathers 5. End complete 6. Hound 7. Gravemakers 8. Running free 9. Road and the damned 10. mother superior. 11 -13 everything else
Mother Superior being last is really the only huge qualm I have with that list as someone who loves NWFT. Otherwise I think you have the highlights in the top 6.
Mother Superior has always been one of my favorite songs on that album. Title track takes the cake. Still got a huge soft spot for running free and feathers.
Yeah, NWFT, Gunslingers, JiM, TRF, and Feathers are all in the upper 1/3 of Coheed tracks, it's just the end complete kind of looses steam a bit. Love the album so much though
The main issue I have with the TEC as a suite is it feels like the first time Coheed said, "Alright, it's time to write the closer. We need a slow bluesy intro, an epic chanting part, and obviously a callback to finish it off" and it all comes across as slightly missing the mark compared to previous closers.
This drumeo episode is so sick I love Josh and his story really resonates with me and it’s so great to see him doing something with his out reach thing he’s doing
Saw them last night in Saratoga. Every time I see them live, I’m reminded again that they are the best band. I am a big Rush fan too, so seeing Claudio cover Cygnus X-1 with Primus was a bucket list item that I didn’t know I had. Haha. Almost tempted to go catch their opening set for Incubus in a couple weeks too.
We're getting GAIV in full for Furnace Fest. So pumped. I missed GAIV neverender so this feels like a real redemption moment for me.
I’m still heartbroken from missing the In Keeping Secrets neverender. Missed the NWFT one but that one was unavoidable, was a few days before my daughter was born. The IKS one was on my birthday during the worst part of my life and was basically forced kept from going to it.
