I mean none of the Key Entity songs sound at all alike imo so I don’t think of one specific sound to them that binds them together

 

Is this the first true, full-band B-side Coheed has done? Acoustic versions dont count to me as a B-side. they always just seem like demos

 

I think Elf Tower New Mexico would be the first. It was on the SSTB rerelease.

 

depends what you consider a "b-side." Derranged, Jessie's Girl 2,The Joke, Elf Tower New Mexico....

 

Yea, Id say Elf Tower is the only one that really counts. the others were kind of off-album-cycle singles.

 

Whether or not it was advertised as such, I think The Joke was definitely a Vaxis II b-side.

Speaking of b-sides, I’m listening to the remixed Deranged, and I think a full version of YOTBR that sounds like this would be the definitive version.

 

I consider a b-side to be anything that didn't make an album, regardless of anything. A single can be a b-side in my eyes.

 

So Claudio just said on IG that story wise, TFOMB is basically the Afterman sequel. I think we knew that even just based on song titles, but he also said Meri of Mercy is Key Entity Extraction X, which could make for a fun listen once all the bonus tracks are out.

Yeah, the novella was fun to read, and I hope that now that it’s officially announced we either get an Afterman Neverender or at least more Afterman songs in the sets again.

 

Coheed is a fairly predictable band, and based off the NWFT/Vaxis II tour, I really wouldn’t be surprised if we get an Afterman/TFOMB tour, which would be so sick.

 

Finally road tested the new song and it absolutely rips. Drums sound awesome.

I guess I meant the fact that they were Key Entities specifically was the weird part with the weight tracks like that have with the fandom, but the above comments are correct and I'm being a downer!

Really love this band! Been listening to them all day on shuffle.

I still can't believe Claudio confirmed that Meri of Mercy is actually "Key Entity Extraction X: Meri the Merciful."

I really hope they change the CD/vinyl back cover of the New Entities Edition to reflect the new title.
