Well there's narrative reasons for the Apollo thing.

Yeah it's definitely a retread, just a little different lyrically, structurally, and the bridge is a fan favorite since it has callbacks to Everything Evil off the first album as well as Blood Red Summer from the second album.

I know but I’m too lazy to properly get into all the lore and stuff right now lmao, I’m just enjoying the songs as they come

They are my favorite band of all time and I've listened to them since 2003, and I still only vaguely know what's happening. No reason to dive into the lore unless you REALLY want to.

Yeah, I’ve read posts saying that you have to read the comics to get more of an idea and I just don’t see me doing that anytime soon lol

I don't really care about the intricacies of the story, I just love that there is one. Makes it all feel part of something bigger.

I absolutely adore the recurring motifs and themes, like a soundtrack. That's the secret sauce for me.

The lore is both vague and dense at the same time, but the Apollo thing is relatively easy to work out.

Every song on that album other than the suite is a meta story about the "author" of the Amory Wars, so one song is the author's words and the other is his words being fed through Claudio (the character).

This is exactly where I'm at. I like nerdy sci-fi stories and concept albums, and with Coheed I like the songwriting better when it's being framed as a story. Just feels more epic like you mentioned.

This is basically where I am, too. My Coheed love is at its zenith when I’m belting out the weirdest shit in a sinfully sweet melody.

    “man your own jackhammers!”

    “I’m burning star iv!”

I don’t really need to know why I’m singing this stuff. But I want there to be a reason haha.

I love the first couple of lines on Once Upon Your Dead Body, probably my favourite song on there right now

also I'm so glad there is a story, otherwise lyrics like:

"In short, for the murders of those I court
I bless the hour that holds your fall
    I will kill you all"

    and

    "For you, I'd do anything
Just to make you happy, hear you tell me that you're proud of me
    For them, I'll kill anything
Cut the throats of babies for them, break their hearts for they were them
    Waiting for you to say
    "I love you too"
The navigator, the pilot, her favorite
The one they call the Vision that bears the gift
The navigator, the pilot, her favorite
The one they call the Vision that bears the gift
Will, do the children really understand
The things you did to them?
And why, oh why, should they conjure up the will?
For you, my love, I would kill him
    We're coming home pretty soon
    Coming home
In the seventh turning hour, will the victims' shadow fall?
Should the irony grow hungry with the victory and all they sought before?
We were one among the Fence
    One among the Fence..."

    Would be real awkward.

I've started reading the comics this week and honestly I like them so far lol. gonzo sci-fi horror filtered through Claudio's 80s influences, they're goofy and great

The Continuum suite has reallllly grown on me. Think it closes the album so well. Need to see Tethered Together and So It Goes live

IMG_2687.jpeg IMG_2692.jpeg Coheed did a free pop-up radio show at The Cubby Bear in Chicago tonight. Ended up being an acoustic show and it absolutely ruled. Bawled like a baby holding my wife during “Corner My Confidence”.

Claudio also did a live radio interview before the show.

This album has officially hit that benchmark moment of Everyday I Wake Up With A Different Song In My Head.

    Today it's Meri of Mercy.
