God I wished they sold the books for these separately. I just cant justify dropping almost 200 bucks.

They do. Both Vaxis I and Vaxis II got standalone books. I'm sure V3 will too once the dust settles in a few months.

Gimme light, gimme love, gimme fire

Been a fan of this band for over 20 years and have only vaguely understood the story. Will probably pull the trigger on this 3 hardback collection soon.

    No Fun. Not Ever.

Think the only comic related thing I have of theirs is the first SSTB comic I picked up from Warped Tour forever ago.

Um, if that's in good condition you might want to check out how much it's been selling for on eBay lately.

Sadly, it is not in the best condition. I remember checking that years ago and being mad at myself.

One time someone offered me $500 on discogs for like some Hot Topic pressing of SSTB but then my brothers dog chewed up the sleeve

Debuted at No 51 on Billboard and No 70 in the UK. Very respectable given the career-length/uniqueness of the band/general mainstream challenges of rock music these days.

I've only ever been a casual fan, but this album hits front to back for me, really enjoying it.

No, but I could probably come around to it containing the best heavy moment of their discog, though the "breakdown" in both NWFT and Fuel For the Feeding End, along with The End Complete, would all compete for that title.

it is definitely in my top few songs on this album, which unfortunately remains my least fave of the Vaxii so far after a bunch more listens.

    Play the Yakuza series

I’ve been meaning to check out this band for a while and for the past week have been going through their discography. I’m up to the first Vaxis album right now but what a wild ride it’s been so far

It’s definitely been a fun one. I enjoyed the first two a lot but really started getting into them with GA1, especially the stretch from Welcome Home to The Suffering. NWFT was also great, even if it wasn’t as good as GA1 in my opinion.

YOTBR was okay but a bit of a let down, I’ll need to give it some more listens. Both Afterman albums were a big return to form, especially Descension. I will say that Holly Wood is probably my least favourite song they’ve done so far though lmao

A bit let down by TCBTS, that one felt quite bland on first listen unfortunately. However, Unheavenly Creatures was great on first listen, probably didn’t need to be that long though

It's amazing that you pretty much nailed the consensus of how people feel about the discog. Only thing I'd mention is to take time to get really acquainted with the Good Apollo songs that are after The Suffering, in particular The Willing Well suite. Those four songs are generally looked at as their pinnacle, at least from the camp that loves the prog infused stuff.

Oh yeah I enjoyed the last 4 songs on it, even if Wishing Well 3 is more or less a retread of Apollo 1 haha. I’m still not particularly into Miss Erica Court though unfortunately, but Mother May I onwards is great
