But in my mind I find

Sitting down with this later, giving it a famous "headphone listen". Enjoying the positivity in this thread, I must say.

Wonderful album, not all of it landed for on first listen but I really enjoyed myself regardless

Time will tell but initial reaction is I probably like this a little less than Vaxis II, and about as much as Vaxis I (still a lot)

As an Afterman homie I am content

Corner my confidence is one of their best slow songs, stunning

Someone Who Can is euphoria distilled into a Coheed song

Meri of Mercy god damn. What an anthemic song.

    Favorite band forever.

    It's all hell.

This is so bloody great. Most I've enjoyed a Coheed record in years.

The acoustic lead guitar is awesome, a cool decision to play them that way.

This is really good. Had a smile on my face listening to it with my coffee this morning lmao. So far, I like it more than Vaxis 2

    Two listens in:

Not a huge fan at the very least of: Meri, Poet, Corner my Confidence, Sonny.

Really really like the rest of it. First 3 songs of the suite are absolutely awesome.
If I made the album just my top 8 songs it absolutely stacks up to anything they got.

Thats all i got for now.

Yeah this rules. Feels like Afterman Pt 3 in the best way. Could easily see this being my favorite Vaxis album in time. Genuinely impressive how their quality continues to stay this damn good this long into their career. Cannot wait to see these songs live and honestly wish they’d just go full Neverender immediately and play this whole album.

Already have tickets to see them on the summer tour with Foxing, but I’m strongly considering the 3 hour drive to see them again with Mastodon in June lol

they should have played the album in full at the Irving Plaza show - not sure about them livestreaming it but it would have been a huge show of confidence lol. Kind of impossible with Travis being in LS Dunes though

The amount of callbacks on this album is insane in the best way.

also So It Goes rules, big Dear Hunter vibes.

This will probably have to grow on me a bit more, on first listen I think Vaxis I & II are definitely stronger records, but the strong points in this are really fucking great.

The bridge of Play the Poet is probably my favorite way they've ever executed harsh vocals. I'm sure they're pitch shifted down, but it sounds so good.

One Last Miracle didn't make a huge impression on me on the first listen but that is a jam, feels like a spiritual successor to Away We Go.

I’m thinking that Vaxis II has higher highs, but FOMB is more consistent

Yeah I don’t want to say too much to spoil anyone who hasn’t listened but…with Afterman being my favorite Coheed album(s), this one gave me chills all over the place.

    I love this band.

This is an early contender for my favorite album lyrically, too. There seems to be a lot personal observations from Claudio about getting older, but then some great story beats as well.
