Very surprised they are coming to Memphis, I will be there mostly for STD, but I really enjoy the first 2-3 Coheed albums also.
That would be awesome. On the flyer it says Saves the Day isn't playing that night so it has to be someone pretty big.
On the fence about which date to go to. The Port Chester show is an hour closer to me, but on a Friday night it will be a pain. Starland Ballroom being on a Saturday is so much better, but an hour farther.
I think the special guest will end up being Saves The Day. They are playing the NJ Taste of Chaos date (which is this Friday) which is probably why they weren't initially announced.
If you're going to make your decision based on food in the area: Capitol Theater has much better options nearby (Taqueria La Picardia, Coals, Heartland, McShane's, Rye House, Bartaco). All within walking distance. I'm sure they'll all be super packed on a Friday night in PC, but its nice to have options. To its credit, Starland does have Nunzios Kitchen nearby, but its like a 5 mile drive. And Brass Monkey makes surprisingly good food, too. Personally, I like the Capitol Theater much better. I feel like the actual venue is nicer, I've yet to be there when it's seemingly super oversold (unlike Starland), I can find free parking around Port Chester, and there's places to walk to in the vicinity of the theater. And Garcia's, the bar next door is pretty nice, too. I'm pretty excited they're starting to get shows that I'm interested in more regularly.
@thispartysucks thanks for the suggestions! my buddy bought me a ticket for the capitol theater show so i'll definitely try to check one of those places out!
Taste of Chaos with Saves The Day is tonight. I assume the special guest will be revealed within a few days.
