I disagree. Aside from the MTV Unplugged link, I didn't really understand why they did that song - I thought it was a pretty mediocre cover, and neither Reba or especially Jami come anywhere near Layne or even Jerry on that song.
Not gonna lie, the idea of Code Orange Unplugged had me a bit skeptical at first, but...I think they pulled it off? I'm listening to the digital release and it sounds very good. They're not gonna touch AIC but the cover was at least fine, and I think that's the best case scenario for anyone trying to tackle that song in this setting. EDIT: this version of "dreams" is really fucking good
I like Reba and when they are harmonizing on the cover but Jami by himself not so much the more I listened to it. I love the other songs though
reba’s voice was a bit more of what i disliked. just went super extra and a little over the top on the chorus.
Thought both the cover and the whole set were very good. It really let their songwriting shine through.
A little late to this one, had a friend recommend it to me the other day... There’s a “grungy” flavor to some of these tracks that’s never really worked for me, but the album is so wild and such a ripper that it’s not really bothering me. Liking it a lot. Was NOT ready for the last few seconds of the intro, on my morning commute earlier LMAO.
Really hope seeing them live becomes a possibility in the not too distant future. Would love to see them play this whole record to be honest.
I feel like that would likely be the setlist with Forever, Bleeding in the Blur, and I Am King tacked on.
Whatever they played in the Last Ones Left livestream is probably what you're gonna get when they come around
