I suck - this will be tomorrow - I got called into an online conference for work today because I have to put together a presentation for my teammates tomorrow online haha there is always something - work or anxiety lmao
I politely requested one of the other two haha Also Genius shows that there's a Japanese bonus track called "The Cutter" - @Drew Beringer can you please confirm/deny?
Finally giving it a listen. What the fuck is You and You Alone? Probably the most intense song I've heard in a long time Not even halfway done, and I like it much more than Forever. The industrial parts and the glitchy transitions sound more natural this time.
Who I Am and Erasure Scan are fucking crazy. They really went all out, there's way more diversity than I expected. I hear shades of many bands, not gonna lie, but the way they inject all these supposed influences to make something that feels theirs is unique. I really can't think of anything else that sound like this right now. I admit I'm one of those fans who would miss their Code Orange Kids years, but I think they've finally found their sound. Where do they even go from here?
The more I go back to this, the more I feel like it's going to be extremely hard to top this year. This is so fucking good.
“Both tracks advance the band’s agenda is entirely different ways” FYI! also, incredible review. Wish there was a rating for near perfect records, as you state in the last paragraph. Album is truly a game-changer
In case you didn't know, this band was set to open for Code Orange on their upcoming/cancelled tour. About to go live in an hour.
It was live a couple of hours ago. I don't think the replay is up yet. I'd just keep an eye on hate5six's Youtube page edit: will probably wind up here...
Ordered a flesh and blood vinyl and a last of the real ones shirt and they can figure it out. edit: their customer service email is pretty great - responsive
Duuude. The last show I went to before all this was The Acacia Strain/Rotting Out/Creeping Death/Chamber/Fuming Mouth and I didn't even get to stay for TAS or RO because of car issues. The Code Orange and Year of The Knife streams were fun. Hope hate5six (and others) keep it up.
i didn't think about it until this morning, but I was missing the Gulch/Fiddlehead/RJC/Mortiferum/True Widow/No Right/Soulblind show last night
You can tell they were so pumped about writing and recording this. The visceral excitement I get from this can only come from a band confident and at the top of their game. I've got a favourite song each time I listen. Right now it's The Easy Way. That vocal hook is huge.
