Alright after giving it a few listens, I dig it a decent amount. Grooming and The Game are definitely my preferred but I can fuck with this too. Billy Corgan's part is....I mean, it kinda fits and what it's going for but he's such a pretentious asshole that it's hard to like it still. On another note, mad props to Jami and his vocal range. First time listening to the song and I thought "Wow is that really him?" Going from knowing how heavy he can be to this is super cool.
if the rest of the album is different than this single I’m sure it’ll be great. but I guarantee I’ll be skipping this song every single time I listen to it
Feel like this would be much better with Reba on leads too. I don't mind the WWE core sound but I'm not a fan of Jami's cleans here.
I love to make fun at their edge lord vibe sometimes but fuck if I don't come back to their out there songs all the time.
By traveling to New Zealand this morning, I was able to hear “Mirror” a little earlier than expected. Wow, this album is going to be an adventure - and divisive.
i desperately want to know how the hell they got the whole album and a bonus track to fit on a single LP, especially given that the digital/streaming version is around 51 minutes long. side B itself would be around 28 minutes long given the sequencing on the website, and side A is at least 23 minutes long, bordering on 24, without the intro bonus track.
which is what i'm worried about, haha. for the record, i have a couple albums that get into the 24-25-ish minute range on a side or two that sound amazing, but trying to jam 28 minutes on a single side sounds terrifying
Divisive for sure, especially this song. Very interesting style with Reba just singing on like a low-fi beat and acoustic guitar.
That video was super cool, and hey for the people wanting more Reba - here's an entire song for her! On first listen I like it, not love it. The backing instrumentation especially in the second half might be my favorite part.
I liked this a lot. Wasnt sure about Reba's vocals from the first verse but once it kicks off a bit more she really does a great job.
Dig this song a decent amount. I’m sure it’ll fit right in on the album. Love when they subvert expectations.
They’re really cooking up an interesting vibe for this album. Seems very 90’s edgy, eccentric alternative rock? That's not an insult either. I LOVE the idea of "Mirror" and a song like "Grooming My Replacement" being on the same album.
Great track. To me, it's a natural progression — a stripped, mellow version of the melodic songs Reba has sung on previous albums. I can imagine a heavy version, but they were confident enough to play it straight with the acoustic and embellish around that. Eager to hear it within the context of the album.
