Silvering the Senses EP

EP (single?) came out today. Gave it a couple listens, interested in hearing more.

 

Reba Myers has released a solo single

 

I actually really liked that

Fuck Reba Myers and this band for standing by her touring with a heinous piece of shit like Brian Warner.

 

we literally don’t know if the rest of the band is standing by her lol.

It really does seem like they aren’t close or even friends with her anymore.

 

I feel like their silence on the matter is comment enough, hopefully it'll be addressed if this band even still exists? I honestly don't know.

Reba’s song is good.

I hope they’re not done forever. The Above (and everything else) was great.

 

I just wish we could get an actual response from the band - one way or the other.

 

For a band so self-assertive and outspoken, it is strange that they seemed to have stuttered to a quiet conclusion. Just when a hardcore band is showing up on Jimmy Kimmel and nu-metal has had a mega retrospective resurgence, from prime position a few years ago they've disappeared into the shadows of both.

 

I don’t think the band is done, just on an indefinite hiatus. The members were such tightly knit and all-in for so long that when Dom couldn’t tour and they had to cancel it, I assume the Manson tour came into the fold for Reba and everything sort of petered out from there. Add in the fact that The Above didn’t seem to resonate with fans and didn’t get the hard rock crossover I think they hoped for and it makes sense why they went quiet. Maybe give them a year and they’ll come back and headline a hardcore fest and get back to it.

 

Looks like they played a couple UK dates in June so 6 months of inactivity isn't that much

since then jami has regularly shown/tagged everyone other than reba on his IG stories, with this one from last week being the most telling yet. hard to not wonder if they would actually go forward without her. my hope is that jami gets back behind the kit and they return to metalcore with a new name.

I love Jami so much

 

can't say i'm surprised. hoping for good things for most of the members in their new ventures (the ones that aren't performing with rapists)

 

I for one loved the Above and I'm sad that even if they would get back together, they likely wouldn't stick to that style.

I kinda think all of the other members don’t mess with the one performing with a rapist at this point in time.

 

I'd like to think that but realistically they're probably still fine with her, it'd be cool though!
