Wait actually I think I’m thinking of a different band. Don’t think I’ve ever listened to alt-J. Scratch that

 

i'm actually curious how they're so big, they don't seem accessible enough to appeal to the crowd that is super into bands like foster the people and two door cinema club and bands like that but for some reason they're enormous. this band baffles me

 

Woah you guys are hard on alt-J. I like them.

 

The only band as of late that fits the mold of the ones mentioned above that I like is Bad Suns.

Alt-j was always boring to me, so this doesn't mean much. More importantly, if you buy something from their shop during this current sale, you get a digital copy of the itsalmostforever tour tape that Shade made. Only issue with that is having to buy some of their new hideous merch.

i mean i'm mostly saying that nails are like deafheaven in which they have a bunch of fans that aren't really super deep into the scene, the "hipster" following lol

well yeah.

most of the people super into metal and hardcore i know hate nails because the dude is a piece of shit.
though the metal/hardcore people i know are also very socially conscious ones as well

 

I for one find Deafheaven good but overrated.

 

possibly true, but in my experience, most of the metal/hardcore people I know have no problem jocking nails. they seem to be one of the few bands that has crossover appeal between both scenes here in chicago to the point where nails sold out a 700 cap venue last time they came through here with toxic holocaust and gatecreeper. conversely, most of my friends who are into black metal HATE deafheaven. it's possible it could be because of deafheaven's progression over the years, or it could be my friends' tastes. just the sample size i'm working with.

Deafheaven is one of my favorite bands but I dont pretend to know anything about black metal or be part of that scene.

 

Yeah I saw them live as well. Funny thing was they played a music festival in my home town that really wasn't their scene, so the crowd was totally not into them.
