Little surprised there wasn't a thread for this already. Anyway, it's a Pixar movie that doesn't star any vehicles, so we should be looking forward to this
Speak for yourself, I can't wait to see those goddamn cars get smashed up and die in Cars 3: The Gritty Reboot. Especially Mater, the worst character Pixar ever created. Fuck Mater. He's the goddamn Jar Jar Binks of Pixar.
I genuinely don't know what they were going for with that Cars 3 trailer. Is this just their weird way of appealing to those outside the audiences that were gonna see it anyway?
Yeah, it's perplexing to say the least. Like part of me thinks it's just a parody trailer or something and it isn't at all representative of the final product but then I think literally nobody from Pixar has come forward and said that yet so it could be legit. I don't know. Either way, I've had Coco marked on my calendar ever since it was first teased that Pixar was making a Dia de Los Metros movie (with Lee Unkrich directing!) so I am beyond psyched for this. The visuals alone are going to be mind-blowing.
I'm also preparing to cry profusely at this. That trailer is nothing short of magical. It's amazing that Pixar is releasing something this unique and original in the same calendar year as Cars 3. And not, like, amazing in a good way either.
The Good Dinosaur is better than Cars 2 and only slightly less good than Cars. Plus it was still an original story, not a threequel to the franchise which was the catalyst for Pixar's fall from grace.
