You have to think Gwen sees the tepid response her solo material has been getting the last few years and comparing that to some of the best press she’s ever gotten, out of last night. She looks so much more comfortable on stage with rest of No Doubt there.
My take, obviously I don't know, is that music just isn't her focus anymore in general. Even in interviews about new singles she always says there's no plan for an album, that she's just releasing stuff as she makes it, feels pretty casual
No Doubt set was fantastic. They all looked happy being up there which was refreshing. I hope they do a show closer to me because I’d love to see them.
Going back to stream Batiste before it's gone and I was already tempted before, but I think I'm going to pay something obscene to see him at Radio City...
Catching up on the stream. Blur sounded great and seemed to have a better crowd reaction than their 2013 set. But shocked that they didn’t do Parklife or The Universal. Possibly cut for time? Not a big fan of Tyler but his set seemed really entertaining.
Before they played Parklife at the Pomona show on Wednesday, Damon told the crowd “we’re probably not gonna play this one at Coachella. It would be wasted.” Or something along those lines
Sublime did. It's kinda silly to be upset they didn't do them as collabs, Jakob is debuting as the singer and that's big enough in it itself, we don't need to also act like it's a big a deal they didn't do two collabs his dad did.
Taking Back Sunday sounding better than usual right now. Also I don’t know what Adam’s regime has been, but he looks damn good.
Reddit says Kesha did Tik Tok at someone's set and changed the lyrics to "wake up in the morning saying fuck p Diddy"
I think just going by things said in the media for years. Gwen intended this is to be a one off, but we shall see after the response and them being the most talked about thing about this year online.
Will Smith surprise was fun. Justice had cool lights. No Doubt was great. Jungle vibes made sense for Coachella. Lana is a boringgggg headliner. Aquabats were fun as always. that’s pretty much all I watched during streaming this weekend. Interested to see what surprise guests come out next weekend. turns out, I still don’t see the appeal in electronic music. the visuals are cool though. but they kinda have to be.
going through all the performances I wanted to see throughout the next week or so. Watched L'Impératrice (super fun, great festival set) and Brittany Howard (solid stuff, she never misses) so far. Up next are Tinashe, Chloe, Justice and Lana
Will be interesting if these Lana Del Rey stadium dates still move ahead given the apparent lackluster response to her set
I mean… who expected anything more than a lackluster performance from her? That’s like… her thing, isn’t it?
