As a die hard fan, I will say I can admit her show isn’t the best unless you’re 100% in, but also she’s improved a lot over the last 5 or so years. Lolla 2016 was my least favorite set of hers that I’ve seen, but this years set was my favorite. I’d be curious to see if she’d step it up for a Coachella headlining slot. But she’s had a hell of a year so if she plays I think she definitely deserves the top spot.
Who cares about that?! Coachellas about taking pics for instagram/tiktok so you can tell people you were there not about actual music
Lana is incredible live, but seeing her at a festival sounds fucking awful. Half the crowd is gonna be molly munchers and talkers. It’ll be hard for her to keep the casual fans engaged, but she’s def deserving to headline.
Coachella gets a bad rap, granted weekend 1 is atrocious with all of the influencers everywhere. Compared to ACL or Bonnaroo the crowd def seems less engaged in the music but it really doesn’t impact your experience unless you let it.
There are influencers who only go to be seen and post that they are attending on social media. There are influencers who go to events outside the festival grounds and barely step foot on the fields and barely see any music but say they are at Coachella. It happens every year. But in the grand scheme of things it’s a very small percentage of people and although I’ve never been to Coachella before the likelihood of running into those people is probably slim to none, especially if you’re seeing artists that aren’t headlining or super close to the top.
There's people at 100-person club shows who are there to get drunk and not care about the music. It's live music in general, always will be a percent of people who aren't there for the music
Haha so true! I am just old and bitter about the fact that my favorite bands are not headlining material for Coachella any longer and I have no interest in the artists who currently do
Looks like tomorrow is lineup day, Amex presale says 1/4 and the lineup is out the day prior to that presale Experiences
I hope so. They could very easily push that presale though, as they haven’t publicly advertised it anywhere
Here’s the HitsDailyDouble article. Says Lana, Tyler, and Doja Cat are the headliners. https://m.hitsdailydouble.com/hits_list_chart&date=2024-01-05 “COACHELLA: Desert fest said to have Lana Del Rey, Tyler, The Creator, Doja Cat as headliners, with Peso Pluma getting a big look. Will Tollett, Marciano and teams add a big rock piece? We have no doubt they have something killer up their sleeve.”
I'm so so on Doja for the most part, but her last Coachella set was pretty amazing and felt like a headline set, she's obviously a good pick
