It looks like it’s explaining that crash you see in the water at the end of Cloverfield.

 

I did, but I remain skeptical. They can still throw that crap in there even were it not a "proper" sequel.

It's a prequel to the original Cloverfield explaining what crashed into the ocean at the end and created the monster, the trailer made that pretty clear. I'm actually surprised, though, because I was under the impression the Cloverfield brand was going to be more of an anthology concept with each film being thematically similar but different in all other respects.

Either way, stoked to see it.

I’m super excited for this. Especially since I was expecting to wait another month or so but I can’t help but think putting it up last minute on Netflix cheapens it a little bit.

 

wasn't 10 Cloverfield Lane a finished movie and then they sold it and reshot the ending to fit in with Cloverfield?

No it doesn’t. They released a press release that said its out the minute the game ends.

 

I liked 10CL way more than Cloverfield. Still excited though

Holy shit I really hope this does tie into the original film, Im so fucking excited, why does it have to premiere late the night before work :(

 

The real question is what kind of person prioritizes their job over the Cloverfield prequel?
