Didn’t the ARG back in the day mention it being a satellite? I wonder if they’re walking that back for sequel purposes
IIRC I think that was just what they thought it was, and/or it was a coverup of sorts because they weren't sure what it was. I assumed what happened is the thing fell to Earth randomly thanks to the Cloverfield Paradox...at least that's what I took the ending of that movie to be hinting at
Bummed we never actually got a sequel to this. The 13 Cloverfield Lane one had nothing to do with original and I was so disappointed. Didn't even see the Netflix one from a while back. TJ Miller was bomb in it. I totally forgot about that Ferris wheel scene with the background shot. Been like a decade since I've seen this. Remember seeing it opening night originally.
Im not saying 10 clovierfield was bad, just was bummed it wasn't a direct sequel to Cloverfield. I enjoy TJ Miller in Silicon Valley and Deadpool. And every time I see him i immediately say "that's the guy from Cloverfield!" But his personal life is a shit show.
I say this exact comment every time this gets bumped and I'll say it again. In a world where cinematic universes and IPs are all that matter, I can't believe the Cloverfield universe has been forgotten about.
I enjoyed Paradox...though fully admit I would have probably been less interested in it/liked it less if not for the Cloverfield connection. Like that type of movie is not one I'd go out of my way to watch otherwise
I also remember enjoying Paradox a lot more than most people, but I've been meaning to rewatch, so maybe that will change
I enjoyed Paradox too, but I'm not sure it would hold up on a rewatch. I just remember being so excited when they dropped a surprise teaser during the Super Bowl and were like "Ya you can watch this shit right after the game" and I was like
Literally never been more hyped in my life than that Super Bowl trailer lol. Sure the movie didn’t quite live up to it, but I had fun staying up until 2am watching anyway.
I remember watching that Super Bowl with 6 other people and no one understood why I was flipping out so much. I went into a detailed explanation about Cloverfield and how amazing it was and this cinematic universe they're creating for it.......then I was very embarrassed to see how terrible Paradox was and that I put it on this huge pedestal for everyone lol
I didn’t hate Paradox but it was a sci-fi movie with fan service thrown in randomly. I still want to know why the monster at the end was so big his pumpkin ass head stuck out above the clouds.
I legit can’t remember a single part of the film. I know I watched it after the Super Bowl that night but honestly remember nothing. I just read the plot synopsis on Wiki and it brought back nothing for me. Might rewatch this tonight:
I thought Paradox was fun, watching it right after the Super Bowl (was super hyped for it when it was “God Particle.”) Re-watched it later and oh boy it does not hold up.
