Watched 10 Cloverfield Lans yesterday and I was not really impressed. I hate that it didn't have any direct correlation to Cloverfield. Doubt I'll be watching again.
It's basically going to be a modern day type of Twilight Zone. Sounds like each movie will be a standalone.
The Invitation The Witch The Little Prince Everybody Wants Some 10 Cloverfield Lane There's plenty I still need to see and some I need to rewatch but those are all really good
I loved it. Cast was amazing, it was really tense, the music was great. The loose tie to the first movie was inconsequential for me, and the movie itself was better
I agree the cast was great, I think that was one reason I had really high expectations for it. Thought the writing was fairly weak for a story I felt that had a lot of potential.
I think the writing worked really well with the small scale of the story. The way things played out between the cast members, the rising and falling trust in Goodman's character, the dinner scene, the board game scene, all worked really well with the story they were telling. If the story has issues it's the ending, which while it was pretty incongruous, was still a lot of fun.
10CL was great. I feel like everyone is split on the ending reveal and last 10 minutes. I personally loved it. As far as the original Cloverfield, its been a few years since I last watched it, but that was a fun time in high school discussing theories and everything. Also one of the first midnight showings I ever went to.
Still love 10CL. Was my #1 all year until Arrival came out. One of the most tense movies I've seen in recent memory.
can't wait for the God Particle ARG to start up... still holding out hope for a trailer before Transformers!
10 Cloverfield Lane was probably my fav movie last year. Didn't see all the big hitters though(Moonlight, Arrival, Hell or Highwater etc.). Goodman gave such a great performance.
I'm still insanely bitter about 10CL having literally nothing, ostensibly, to do with Cloverfield. That title will forever be the most egregious lie I'll ever be told.
