After their somewhat shaky career trajectory, the awesomeness of this album is borderline miraculous.
Attack on Memory is a garbage record with two masterpiece songs. The last one was a few good steps back in the right direction. This one they stopped walking and started running.
I'm a loner, Dottie. A rebel. And I really hate Attack on Memory (except "Fall In" and "Stay Useless").
"Wasted Days" is actually solid. If I ever return to another song outside the two I mentioned, it's that one. The other one...pretty much emblematic of why I don't like the record. Haha
the dark, shouty stuff was really great on that record. albini's production on that record is so great
If you can call it that lol albini just sat in the room and read a news paper while Dylan did whatever he wanted apparently
it was a dramatic difference from everything he'd done before and there's definitely albini influence from that record. production wise i think it's better than the last one, though i think most things about here and nowhere else were better even if he didn't do much it still rubbed off on dylan
How much of the Albini sound is people going "We hired Steve Albini! Let's make Steve Albini music" I wonder?
Just being in his studio changed the sound yeah I'm just saying albini can be quite hands off. Credit to the band more than him in this case imo
It's like Rubin. It seems like saying "We should make an album with Rick Rubin" accomplishes exactly as much as hiring Rick Rubin.
Not liking Cut You is so weird to me Copped the green marble at my shop this morning along with Crutchfield, good day
