I saw them/interview them with Emery when First Temple first came out. Would’ve liked to see them during Pink Lemonade
Thank you all for bumping this thread. Reminded me that I never pre-ordered the album, so I just took care of that now.
I saw them at warped, 2010 or 2011. Truly wild, like, 20 of us vibing and Chris was being... very sexual during his performance, hahaha
Legit thought a YouTube ad for a different song was playing when Absolute Terror Field started. Wild song. EDIT: This is incredibly varied and I'm only on track 5. That one sounded like their version of a 1975 song.
Pleasantly surprised this morning to receive an email from Bandcamp letting me know Soft Hell is ready to dl. Diving in right now!
Totally forgot this was out tomorrow. All these bands with long gaps between records dropping: Gaslight Anthem, these guys, Crime in Stereo and the American Analog Set, hell yes.
You tellin me these guys are actually dorks? I could’ve sworn an earlier track list actually had the titles Eren Jaeger Bomb but yeah
Pulled the trigger on the vinyl on Bandcamp. $40ish for a 2xLP shipped and unlimited downloads included, definitely worth that.
Midway thru first listen and I feel like this is what PL should've been: strange and innovative without going completely off the rails for long stretches. Opener is absolutely sick, easily one of their best.
Yeah the risks here definitely pay off for me way better than anything off PL, but it's actually way less First Temple than I expected. Totally new but really awesome.
Also not sure if some additional mixing/mastering happened for the official release or it's because I'm listening to the FLACs, or just getting used to how it sounds, but the mix sounds really good.
I've got an 8 hour flight in a few hours, so I'm excited to do a discog run finishing with Soft Hell!
