bandcamp doesn’t let you date it more than 3 months in advance almost like they know an 8 month album rollout is fucking absurd
but but but mah special edition neon green swirl vinyl, limited to only 3000 for the most hardcore of fans, must be pressed and available on release day
What are you getting at? A band that barely tours should take risks and lose money? Releasing an album without a label as well, I think after almost 10 years, we can wait a bit and let them get their shit together and take their chances ;d (I know your post was a hyperbole as it seems though ;d)
My gripe isn't with the band so much as the state of the industry in general, and the incentive structure driven by how fans are willing to spend money these days. Same shit, different band.
Forgot this album is coming out this year. I gotta peep the new singles after I’m done revisiting TPATP
Going back through vinyl I've preordered this year and drifted back to Better Way. Song absolutely crushes but I'm brought back to reality knowing that their Bandcamp reads "FULL ALBUM RELEASE DATE TBA - LIKELY OCTOBER 2023". The highest of highs met with the lowest of lows. Gonna be a hell of a wait.
While I don’t necessarily fault the band for doing a longer rollout now that they’re independent to make sure vinyl comes out the same day, I do think it feels extra long given we waited 9 years since the last album…
This one rules too, especially Manny's vocals and the switch up at the end. Are they actually going to deliver? I've really liked all three singles.
"Closure in Moscow have delivered a career-defining opus on Soft Hell" : PostHardcore (reddit.com) that review is kind of too hype-y for my taste, but Chris does leave some comments on the Reddit thread that I find interesting. Started with him responding quite harshly to someone around taking so long to release new music, haha.
I have no issue with them taking time to get the album out, but I still think announcing the album 9 months in advance is absurd
Seeing the review posted had me thinking it was out tomorrow.......but I have to wait another week. I keep forgetting about this album but then I listen to the 3 singles and I'm instantly hyped again. Keeper of the Lake is so damn good. I'm all for bands taking their time, rather than rushing something out or ceasing to be a band altogether. EDIT: Seeing that they are going to be in Dallas next February has me intrigued to see them. Last time I saw them was like in '08 or '09 at Warped Tour.
Gold Necklace is also one of the better Kurt Travis projects as well. Would love to catch that tour. Still kicking myself for not going to the PTH/Closure in Moscow tour.
