Wanted to really like this. Don't hate it, but the production sounds off and the vocals, at times, don't click with me.
As a fan who thoroughly enjoyed their debut “First Temple” far more than PL, this kind of makes me think what b-sides from that first album cycle may have sounded like..and that’s not a bad thing
oh man, this is some of the best news of 2023 for me. their first EP and full-length were massive for me. pink lemonade was a miss but this makes up for lost time immediately. on repeat already.
Production is a bit off but overall much better than anything on PL. Excited for a new record. I interned at Science Records when they originally got signed and I was always sad the deal fell through and they went over to Equal.
curious about what feels about the production? the only thing that stuck out to me that I wasn't keen on was the 2nd vocal where its wildly dry compared tot he primary intro. I kind of wish it had gone straight from the primary intro right into the chorus.
I think I spoke too soon the vocals sounded a bit off to me but listening a few more times the production sounds pretty solid. I guess my one complaint would be is it doesn't sound as polished but that's just my preference.
New single is great. Unpopular opinion, but Pink Lemonade is in my top 5 favorite records of all time. So complex and different from anything else. I have a feeling this new record will be great, but I expect and hope they diverge from FT and PL through much of this record. It would be awesome if the new record contains things like 2:00 min into this video Also, it bugs me when people make comments directly on their social posts about them “going back to their roots” when they have only put out two full lengths in 17 years
Ya, I like the chorus ok…but the rest of the vocals seem improvised…and don’t quite hit. Maybe it will grow on me.
