Twenty years after the original MTV series (and the protests that ended it, and which are why no Gandhi this time), Clone High returns as a MAX-Exclusive series. All the voice actors are back -- though they've moved Christa Miller to a new character and got a new voice actress for Cleopatra. A modern refresh of the hit series of the same name, CLONE HIGH follows a high school for clones of the greatest minds in history. Twenty years after the original experiment was put on ice, Joan, JFK, Abe, and Cleo have been thawed out to resume school with their new clone classmates – all while navigating a new set of cultural norms and overly dramatic teen relationships. Not sure if the entire new season is available on May 23rd, 2023, but that's at least when the first episode is up. For those who want to run back the original series, it's available on both Paramount+ and HBO Max. ...without the original 00's emo soundtrack...
Just rewatched season one on HBO Max over the weekend, not sure I even knew a reboot was on the way. I’ll miss McDonald’s Ghandi, or the character of Ghandi at all, but I get it Said it in the streaming thread but I really like the change in Joan’s design lol. The pointy head with no hair on top thing always looked so weird
Do you remember hearing Dashboard as Joan made out with JFK in a boat and JFK started yelling about getting out of his dingy?
Def has the theme, but I remember prominent usages of like, On a Wire-era Get Up Kids and Thursday on the show, and they weren’t on the streaming version. it’s a bummer, but it’s rights issues for sure. I’d love for it to get worked out.
First two episodes are up, and honestly? Pretty good. You'd almost think a 20 year pause was part of the plan.
Been rewatching s1 over the last few days, and didn't realise American Football's 'Stay Home' was in the film fest episode. One of my favourite songs of all time.
My friends and I will still randomly text STAMOS! to one another. This is one of the shows that started to guide my sense of humor. I'm cautiously optimistic for the reboot
Only watched the first episode. I’m admittedly a little averse to shows feeling the need to acknowledge cancel culture, so that was kinda disappointing - apology video tiktok was kind of a low point for me. Cinnamon’s 20 year recap was incredible though lol
Really enjoyed the first 2 eps. Feels like Clone High, weird and stupid and great. Joan's such a great character, very endearing.
Just started the first episode but man, I am glad to have this show back "Why would anyone do anything a second time after they got burned so badly the first time?"
I watched a bit of this show in uni but I'm properly seeing it for the first time and it's absolutely wild. no idea how they got away with stuff like the enemy basketball team almost having the Nazi flag. insane
watched the first two new ones tonight, I definitely agree the cancel culture/tiktok shit is pretty played out but it doesn't feel like it's lost a step otherwise. Abe is still the absolute worst, Scudworth and Mr B are still the best. "the coffee machine didn't break, I was getting freaky with it" in episode 2 absolutely wrecked me, had to pause the episode
