Alewife and Bags are easily my favorites. What a bold move having a song like Alewife as the first track on your debut LP. Can’t say enough good things about this.
My friend sent me this album yesterday saying “this sounds right up your alley” and he couldn’t have been more spot on. Maybe my favorite thing I’ve heard all year. I had never even heard of her so I was shocked to see she is from a couple towns over from where I currently live, has over 5 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and is touring with Khalid.
Honestly love Bags to death and it hooked me really hard but tbh I’m kinda glad it’s the only song here that sounds like that. The rest of the record is more geared towards where my music tastes have been going.
Sofia is sooooo good She definitely leveled up here. I like Diary 001 quite a bit, but this is truly stunning.
This gets better and better the more I listen. Feel like it’s gonna truly hit the spot once it starts to cool off outside.
Passed on the Khalid tour cause I’m not a fan of arena shows, but if I’d have known Clairo was the opener it would’ve been the additional push I needed to go. Will never forgive myself!
I’m doing that right now and it certainly brought my opinion from like to love status. I’m off to drunkenly slow dance alone to “Sinking”. Happy Saturday y’all.
and oh my fucking god Sinking; these songs have so much color and feeling and sensuality to them. it’s, like..... queer “baby-making” music. lmao
Obviously these songs have great bones and would stand alone on their own, but all the production flourishes really being this thing to life. The vocal effects on the chorus on North are just *chef's kiss*.
This album is so good I listened to like four times on release day the last song is an immediate standout and great album closer
She had been a vague internet interest when she was getting pub early on but I never actually checked out the songs. Then I saw her at a festival a year ago and she was great. Now this album rules and she’s friends with a bunch of my other favorite newer artists. Very cool and fun
