ive gone through multiple phases with clairo lmao.

started with loving all her stuff,

THEN i learnt she has a massive marketing team behind her and has same publisist as chance the rapper and i couldnt help but feel shes exploiting DIY culture and how "authenticity" seems to be in now // gamed the youtube algorithm to become popular.

THEN i listened to this, and tbh i dont give a fuck anymore. super enjoyable stuff, and im all in or it

 

She has a great voice. Her feature on the Mellow Fellow track is cool, if y’all haven’t heard it yet

 

totally get where you're coming from, I remember this same conversation surrounding Lana when she came out but I think if the finished product is good then it's all sort of moot

 

oh ya for sure.

everytime i start judging an " indie artist" for having a big publicity team behind them, I remind my self Wu Lyf had a major label marketing guy managing them and yet they are like one of my favourite bands ever. I remember lots of people trying to cuss them out for being "industry plants"

 

This is a pretty solid EP. I would have been bored if this was a full length album, though.

 

Nice, the song she did with Danny L Harle earlier this year, Broken Flowers, is really good. Excited to check this out.

 

the Lana saga was so interesting, she was aimed at the indie crowd then out of nowhere changed trajectories, and look at her now.
