Yeah I've only seen the first Ghostbusters and don't really care to see any more. I think I might have watched the girls one actually but I don't really remember it.
wow, that's pretty wild - might have to actually watch it now I'm a huge fan of the first one, and I have a soft spot for the second one too, but I had only heard bad to outright terrible things about Afterlife before this. certainly nothing that made me think I should actually check it out
The first one is a close 2nd. I wouldn't call myself a "fan" of any of the films, but the original and afterlife are the only films I've cared to watch more than once.
I would describe myself as a huge fan of the first one and a very big fan of the second one as a kid I probably would have said 2 is my favorite, but watching them both now there's a tiny bit of magic missing from the second one and it has a touch of we are all doing this because this is making so much money we just can't believe it energy that the first one simply didn't
I'm waiting for this to hit streaming, but I don't see it breaking into my current top ten of the year: (in the order I saw them, most recent first) I Saw the TV Glow The First Omen Abigail Late Night with the Devil Monkey Man Immaculate Love Lies Bleeding Dune: Part Two Drive-Away Dolls Lisa Frankenstein (plus another five or so I saw in theaters that were either rereleases or didn't make the cut, so I'm averaging like three a month)
