Sorry to start this, but... ANNIHILATION SUNSHINE EX MACHINA — — — 28 DAYS LATER — — — DREDD CIVIL WAR MEN
I was incrrrrrredibly skeptical of this film and went in with super low expectations and thought it was really good actually. Garland’s politics seem incoherent irl but i also think they’re very close to absent in the movie. Once you get past the “how did all this happen” part, it actually is revealed to be a more horrifying, grim, as well as kinda funny movie.
My friend really liked this and I keep telling him Greenland is better because he didn’t like that movie. They aren’t really comparable but it makes me laugh.
Annihilation reigns supreme for me but then it’s probably Devs 28 Days Later Ex Machina Civil War Men
28 Days Later Ex Machina (decently sized quality gap) Civil War Annihilation Sunshine Haven’t seen Men or Devs. Sunshine’s OST is the GOAT though.
Can’t forget Never Let Me Go if we’re ranking his writing projects too. I haven’t seen that one since it came out but I remember really liking it.
Saw this in IMAX and it ruled. Excellent sound design and an overwhelming amount of tension all the way through. I haven’t walked out of a movie this anxious since Uncut Gems. this is right under Ex Machina for me
The movies I’ve seen in theaters lately: Monkey Man > Dune 2 > Civil War > Drive Away Dools = Immaculate > First Omen all a fun time in the movie theater for me
