bay has never made a movie as good as ex machina or annihilation, kick rocks. devs might be even better than either of those. men is worse than several of bays movies but that is neither here nor there.
all kidding aside, Michael Bay does his Michael Bay thing, and I enjoy some of his movies like junk food, but I disagree very strongly that he could make Annihilation. Michael Bay's Ex Machina is The Island. (I only ever saw the trailers for The Island and even that was 20 yrs ago.) either way, when you spend 15 seconds googling for pictures of Alex Garland directing, you definitely don't get shit this this cool -->
I kid. Of course Ex Machina and Annihilation are great. I'm happy to get both the heady sci-fi robots of Ex Machina along with the robot mayhem of Transformers: Dark of the Moon (the best one and basically a masterpiece imo) Cinema is good
the first few times I read your post I kept putting the emphasis in the wrong places I think (I read it as 'movie people' like one term for people who like movies), but I think I agree. I know I'll watch it again because it was completely not what I was expecting it to be or hoping it would be.
Higher on Men than most so I can easily say this is his worst. Surprised this is getting so much praise outside the leads.
starting to see some praise online from the alt-right trolls. a lot of “this is what will happen if Biden continues down his path”.
Well they don’t have much media literacy to begin with so that’s not surprising. The film doesn’t say anything like that they could latch onto because it literally doesn’t say anything. Offerman could’ve easily been conservative; terrible casting by the way.
I think he was supposed to be conservative. There was a line about him serving a third term and disbanding the FBI.
it was very dumb and Jessie’s character arc wasn’t earned at all. She’s scared shitless in one scene and then running in front of the military people the next.
