This song rules, took a few listens for me to get into it. I absolutely loved EIGTH and Youth but I want them to expand more on that heavy/dark sound they had on EIGTH so hopefully that happens here
The only thing that sucks about this is the forever away release date. Couldn't get into EIGTH at all but I am super excited for this after hearing Jet
Love love love this band. Most anticipated right now for sure. Really excited for the weirder parts mentioned in the album description.
Ill also echo the sentiment that Mat Kerekes' solo album last year was great. Anyone who is a fan of this band should check that out.
Never listened to this band before today but "Jet" is a pretty solid jam, I should get into them, what are they hardcore, post-whatever, I can't tell
I should revisit Mat's album. I liked it a lot when it was released, but kind of forgot about it once the deluge of fall releases started coming in.
I hope it's a little more consistent than their previous two records. Massive thumbs down for three month album rollouts.
Welcome to 2017 where we all are too impatient to wait a little less than three months for an album to release. Remember five years ago when it was six-eight months before the album came out that bands / artists announced them? Lol.
Longer rollouts tend to be more beneficial to bands so I'm fine with them. And I mean, there's always going to be stuff coming out in the meantime to check out. Plenty of distractions.
I want to enjoy this band but everything feels mediocre. Both the other two albums had some good stuff but always leave me with a "that's it?" type feeling. This song does the same thing for me.
I think EIGTH has higher highs, but Youth is the more consistent album. I'd probably still say Youth is my favorite thing they've done. That album is a low-key classic for me at this point. Jet has me pretty damn excited, though. I think this could end up being their best.
All I listen to sometimes while I work is DMPulse: Listen | DMPulse But that hardly counts because they play great stuff and they don't have any commercials. So yeah radio rock on dmpulse I'd be ok with that.
This is the first Citizen song I've truly enjoyed since Young States. Honestly, Youth was okay at best and the last album has like two listenable tracks but this is actually really enjoyable for me.
Song is good. Kind of a mix of Youth which was okay and EIGTH which was awesome. Also hoping there are darker/more experimental tracks and they build on the EIGTH sound.
so with this and turnover being on RFC, and Circa going to Hopeless, who exactly is going to sign to black cement?
