I enjoyed Basement's newest release. Brother's Keeper is a great song.

 

they're much better live, cam is a very good frontperson

i don't care for their recorded material but people here love their new record

 

colourmeinkindness is a surprisingly really good record, probably the best album of all the pop punk bands gone grunge

I gotta throw in Pentimento too...wonder what they've been up to. I, No Longer came out in 2015 and I was in love with that record.

 

I see. Seen them live a few times by now I'm sure, they just never made an impression on me.

 

The new album is their only good album

i might like a few songs on J,D more than stuff on the new record

but i liked this sort of stuff more then.

either way cam is def a great performer and i'd feel fine seeing them live if they were on a show i wanted to see

Saw these guys last night. Have some thoughts...

Mat did not sound great...which is strange because he sounded perfect the last time i caught them.

The set was really underwhelming.
It felt like a rehash of other shows they had done until the last 3-4 songs.

They seem to be torn between fan service (youth sing alongs) and putting on the live show they want (Yellow Love, cement Flowerchild).

The sorority noise crowd was also very very young. Which made me feel very very old. Lol

Hope to see these guys on a different type of tour next time...with someone like a foxing / Manchester.

The show did reinforce that As You Please has some great songs. And that EIGTH is my favorite

 

I think somethings wrong with his voice, I hope he takes some time off to rest his chords after this tour

 

What was weird is that he sounded fine on the songs where he was at the piano.

 

I love that album. I will listen to that today after some AC/DC.

Saw them in Pomona and LA back to back. Mat sounded really really good. Maybe he just had a bad night? I've seen them a few times with Circa and they have always been amazing

Joy, Departed is less consistent but incredible. Mononokay and Using are both 10/10, and Nolsey, Art School Wannabe and Corrigan are all great too.

 

I just don't like their old sound.

 

Fantastic album. Though they were never straight up pop punk.

 

true, though they leaned further in that area earlier on

 

I find Forgettable...not very memorable.

 

i like sorority noise more when they're fun and the new album is not fun
