Pretty crazy that there's 6 songs of this out there. I would have just released it digitally now if I was the band...I'm just trying to get this record sooner lol

 

Probably why I like them so much. But like you said I have no problem with it either because they definitely got their own thing going on. It's TROW especially their early stuff, I have a hard time getting into it because it's just too similar to BN without Sapone's production so I'm not big on Varuna for example although His Old Branches is pretty tight.

Never had that problem with Ciz and I'm sure Will Yip has a lot to do with that. They are one of my favorite bands and this new album should cement their place among some of my other favorite bands.

 

But this album rollout has definitely left something to be desired. It's just been far too drawn out imo

Holy crap flowerchild. I mean there's no way this won't be their best release and definitely in my top 5 this year.

 

"In the Middle of It All" is a fantastic single. I'd have to say either "Discrete Routine" because I'm a sucker for curveballs like that (especially from bands like this) or "I Forgive No One" because it reminds me of "Circuits of Fever" by Thursday (or any song on I Was Trying to Describe You to Someone, which is one of my favorite albums of all time)

 

The wait has felt sooo long for this one. I mean I knew it would be but ya too long

 

I would bet money on them streaming the record in full and putting it up on bandcamp sometime next week.

 

yeah, I mean I don't follow a lot of album rollouts but this one has seemed pretty odd even to a casual observer.

 

this would make me happy but their social media posts make me think we are gonna have to wait for a leak or release day

 

anyone not a fan of this band excited for the record?

 

I keep going back and forth between "I've got plenty of music to keep me busy until Citizen" and "but I really just want to hear Citizen". Afraid of overhyping but it's hard with rollouts this longgggg

 

Praying for a leak by Wednesday. Sorry Ciz.

I wish I had it. I'm still thinking it will leak this week or next.. The turnover album leaked a bit early too. I'll say by thursday or Friday it will.. if not good for them, but half the songs are out there and its not a good way to have people listen to an LP, a few of their fans are going to go into this album knowing half the record really well and could hurt their perception of it.. I find that when I know 5-6 songs on an album those end up being my favorites and I tend to not grab the other songs right away bc they don'y grow together if that makes sense. Your brain wants to hear melodies it knows and parts that it knows so its going to react better to the stuff its already heard before.. this is turning into a nonesense post and I may just delete it.

 

Good thing for the people that have only heard four songs

 

I've only heard 3 and I've only listened to them once/twice I'm being a good boy

 

Strongly agree with the sentiment of this wait feeling so long. I've only listened to Jet and am very excited for the rest.

 

I just want another live video like that one of Jet.

 

This would tide me over nicely.

Tbh I almost feel bad saying this because Citizen is one of my favorite bands but I'm kind of indifferent to this leaking or not. I mean the rollout has been so damn long and my excitement has sort of disappeared for it. Don't get me wrong I'm still anticipating it and pre ordered the vinyl but don't want to over hype it or set my expectations up too high so haven't really been thinking about this record too much.

 

I would LOVE for them to put it up on bandcamp before Oct 6th to get ahead of a potential leak. I honestly think that would be a smart thing to do and hope it happens but I have my doubts that it won't happen sadly. Hope I'm wrong.

 

we have to assume someone with the album has been leaking the unreleased singles right?

 

Yeah what's the story with those leaked tracks? Where did they show up in the first place?

 

I would be anticipating this more if it weren’t still 90 degrees here.

It looks like relief is coming soon. We just gotta hold out a few more days (seriously this is ridiculous though, it's hotter than it's been all summer).
