I think violent waves is the second best circa album, I love that album so much and it's only gotten better with age
i was super excited for violent waves when they first started playing birth of the economic hitman, and the lottery live. unfortunately those ended up being my two favorite songs on the record and the rest of it just seemed disappointing to me :/
they set up a Patreon, if you subscribe you get a new song called "Metanoia"!! also a bunch of other cool shit, they put a lot of thought into this
I signed up for the $25/month option and I'm so excited. Metanoia is sick. Can't wait for what's next!
there was a 2017 date embedded in it so I'm thinking Amulet b-side, but I'm not 100% sure. terrific song tho
Metanoia slaps. Definitely sounds like an Amulet B-side to me. I can't believe there were at least THREE songs that didn't make the cut. I feel like that's a ton but it makes sense with The Amulet being their shortest record. From VW, we only got Battle My Love and Nobody Can Change and from DESC we ~sort of~ got Awake in a Dream. Am I forgetting any?
We got Bad Dream from VW as well. That was on the split with Sunny Day Real Estate that came out for RSD 2013
I stand corrected, Bad Heart was released in 2014 for RSD. No clue if it was from the VW era or Descensus, but I lean towards the former. I imagine that song was written at some point in 2013 considering writing/recording/mixing for Descensus took place in early 2014.
Resentment is a BSN B-Side if I’m not mistaken. Never got an official release, but it remains one of my favorite Circa songs to this day. There’s also this amazing video of Anthony playing it acoustic before it was done and it was the first I’d ever heard it.
Yeah Resentment was released to the creature club around 2010/2011. That song rules. I wish it had made an album of some kind, Circa or AG solo
They released a "new" song Metanoia, they have essentially a live album from their fall 2017 tour with Thrice, and they have all the steams from Juturna. I'm sure there will be more in the coming days/weeks
Don’t love the song. Def my least favorite of the b sides. enjoyed the doc tho. That made my day. Needed that. Excited to see if this gains steam and they stick with it.
After listening to Metanoia a few times, I'm even more convinced that all of the b-sides are better than The Hex. I wish Dark Pools made the album. That's become a top 20 Circa song for me lately.
