Same. I watched the whole set thou and I felt like I was right there singing along haha. It's still a dream to one day see Semi Constructive Criticism live
...this is a true point. Never Meant, Carousel by blink, Roman Candle by Elliott Smith deserve a mention too
(also Time Consumer by Coheed, 44 Caliber Love Letter by Alexisonfire, Where I Want To Be by The Dangerous Summer)
living together is a strong contender for best song of all time for me every single guitar bend sends me into space
Yeah, Time Consumer has my vote. Holding Someone's Hair Back is probably number 2. I'm not the biggest American Football fan, but it's hard to imagine a first album opener that is more influential than Never Meant though.
.44 Caliber Love Letter is probably the top for me. That song was just so wild and different from everything I was listening to at the time.
Rediscovering just how much I love Descensus. So many great tracks. “Sovereign Circle” is incredible.
Really brought me back to circa after how disappointing I found VW. Still think Child of the Desert is the best song they’ve ever written
The closer/title track on Descensus is one of my favorite things they've ever done tbh and I totally agree that Sovereign Circles is a huge song. That chorus gets stuck in my head for a week any time I hear it.
So many bangers on that one. Child of the Desert, Only the Sun, Sovereign Circles, & Decenesus to name a few. Not to mention Nesting Dolls is one of their absolute best.
I just wish that Descensus wasn't so treble heavy. I love each song taken individually, but they wear on me when I listen all the way through the album. I'm usually a fan of Yip production too. I think The Amulet is much smoother in that regard. Sovereign Circles is such a jam though. One of their better choruses.
I can't be the only one who loves Violent Waves right? The Lottery is a top 10 Circa song ever for me. Birth, Sharp Practice, MOF & Bird Sounds all get revisited regularly as well.
