on letting go tour '07 Also that tour they had the most amazing backing videos. It was art. then one of their other tours they had this huge like 15 to 20 foot tall painting behind the stage that was that amazing Esao art of the dilapidated house
was that the tour with Fear Before The March Of Flames, Dear and the Headlights, and Ours? THAT was a hell of a show.
The best show I've been to at that venue was Foxing/TWIABP. At this point it may be my favorite venue in the state. I've seen The Wonder Years, Copeland, MewithoutYou, La Dispute, and probably a few others I'm forgetting there as well.
Next few weeks?! I wasn't prepared for it to be so soon, but at the same time I am so ready! Also, today I was driving to work and a USPS van pulled up next to me and started honking, so I look over and he yells that he likes my OLG balloon decal. That has never happened before in the 10 years it's been on my back window haha. Sup USPS guy?
I was literally just thinking a minute ago about them and how I saw them live and met them almost 7 years ago now, after the blue sky noise release. Very weird timing haha
I guess that they signed to Hopeless since Hopeless uploaded the videos for "Get Out" and "Imaginary Enemy". Hopefully this means a BSN repress and the new album announcement soon. EDIT: Digital rerelease of BSN is on Amazon
Comparing it to the other Atlantic digital deluxe, the Hopeless version has four songs from the Safe Camp sessions, the demo for "Airplane Dance", and two songs from the 1290 sessions.
Wondered why those videos got re-uploaded. Still yet to top On Letting Go or Blue Sky Noise. Hopeless has made some fantastic signings lately.
Hopeless signing is interesting, i thought they might sign to black cement because of the Will Yip connection. Listening to a couple of their albums again, liked OLG more than i remembered and BSN less (still love it though). how would yall rank? Need to relisten to Juturna and VW again to give them a fair chance, but this is where im at RN. On Letting Go > Blue Sky Noise > Descensus > Juturna > Violent Waves
I never actually listened to the last album to be honest. I liked the three before it, and Juturna is decent too though.
Descensus is sick, sounds like a band awakened and on a rampage compared to VW. This article has been posted before, but its a good read before listening to it.
Yeah, agreed. Violent Waves to me felt very Circa, but the weakest parts. Descensus felt more like Circa but with a newer and different, probably heavier, edge. Violent Waves is by far and away the weakest Circa album in my eyes. Not that it's a terrible album though..
Very unpopular opinion but descensus is my favorite circa record, I go back to it way more than the others, I love it's straight ahead rock approach. Juturna and blue sky noise are super close for me. I loved on letting go when it came out but I come back to it way less than those. I almost never listen to violent waves but I still like it, this band doesn't have a bad record
I don't think Descensus is more "straight ahead rock" than anythibg else this band has done, especially BSN and VW. Lots it different stuff going on on that record for Circa
