I seriously love the guitars on the Descensus title track. Reminds me of Isis or Tool slightly. It's such a different feel for Circa. Hence why it's my fav on that album, and yeah the super personal AG lyrics too.
the title track on Descensus is so great. Very close to my favorite song on that album, if only Always Begin wasn't my favorite Circa song in general. Some people complain that it goes too long but for me that's one of those songs you can just close your eyes and drift elsewhere
Juturna - We're All Thieves On Letting Go - Your Friends Are Gone Blue Sky Noise - Through The Desert Alone Appendage - Lazarus Violent Waves - The Lottery Descensus - Descensus I couldn't do a least favorite because this band hasn't released any bad, or even mediocre, songs except for Bad Heart and Nobody Can Change.
Laughed at that too hah.. what's funny it's also on The Starting Line's 'Somebody's Gonna Miss Us', like in the real song, and I actually always thought that's a quite clever song. Also, too much happened in this thread over a day hah, but I love doing rankings, though it's difficult in this case, and I won't even try to list any bad ones, so here's my current favorites: Juturna - The Glorious Nosebleed / House Of Leaves On Letting Go - Living Together / Your Friends Are Gone Blue Sky Noise - Glass Arrows / Frozen Creek Violent Waves - Birth Of The Economic Hit Man / The Lottery Descensus - Nesting Dolls / Descensus
aaand well, I'd have to say both Inuit Sessions and Appendage were perfect to me too! For example Handshakes At Sunrise was such an uplifting tune for me back in the day. And I remember having massive chills, sitting in my bed at night and listening to Everyway. As far as you guys mention Lazarus, the second half is definitely really strong, wish I could see them play songs that one live.
yeah, it's funny how right now I skimmed through their whole discography very quickly, and it reminded me of so many weird memories or emotions : ) I'm really very connected to some of those tunes!
Everyway is actually a very simple song, but it's nearly joyful for me. We tend to play it with my band whenever we go ape shit and jam some covers from the back of our minds on rehearsals : )
I remember that! What was better was the cover of 'Unravel' he used to perform together with Casey Crescenzo, as far as I remember it was really cool.
My 1xLP shipped Friday, but for some reason it went from New Jersey to California when I live in North Carolina.
