There is no reason this band can't take the next step and expand their audience outside of the equal vision faithful

Seriously even though I would say VW is my least favorite release from them Blood From a Stone, and I'll Find a Way are perfect.

 

I'll Find A Way is an easy top 10 song by this band for me

 

I love Descensus a lot. At first it was my third favorite overall, but then fell to fourth behind Juturna. Now I feel pretty confident putting it back at three. Descensus has so many bangers on it. I love the rhythm section the album probably more than any other Circa album (there may be some definite bias here as I'm a drummer haha). I love that they experimented a bit more with their sound, from exploring post rock on Nesting Dolls, electronic stuff on Phantom, and the metal nature to the title track. Not to mention Schema (which has maybe the best drum/bass rhythm they've ever done), Only The Sun (which, as someone else mentioned, seems pretty similar to their earlier days), and Sovereign Circles (that chorus soars) are all great songs too.

I feel like they were firing on all cylinders for Descensus, which was a huge comeback for me after the slightly disappointing Violent Waves. Even then, Violent Waves still has some greats on it: Birth Of The Economic Hit Man, The Lottery, Blood From A Stone, I'll Find A Way.

This band has always been really consistent to me, but also do a pretty good job at switch it up at least a little bit from album to album.

 

"Birth of the Economic Hitman", cliche lyrics aside, is a highly underrated CS track.

I also listened to Descensus after the conversation in here and man, it's a great album. There's not really a weak spot on it imo. The first half of the album in particular never ceases to fire me up.

Lazarus is one of the top five best songs I've ever heard in my life

 

It's perfect. I've thought about going in and getting "2 am" and "6 am" added to either side of my Safe camp tattoo.

haha there must be something wrong with me; Lazarus is just a mid-range Circa tune to me. The bridge and ending are really cool, but that first half verse/chorus is super bland IMO.

 

Also worth mentioning how good Battle, My Love is
