Is anybody doing the VIP package? If so, have you received a ticket verification at all that you're supposed to print out and bring with you to the show?
Nevermind, I emailed SHOWstubs and received an email with a PDF for my VIP ticket/package. Am very excited let's go let's let's go let's go LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Hey, I'm selling my ticket for tomorrow's show if anyone is interested. Way too overworked, going to try to go to another date. Message me ASAP.
I really just want to know the encore set. On the Juturna tour they did b-sides from Juturna + House of Leaves. Are they doing the demos that come with the vinyl, or just doing some songs from other albums?
I'm hoping they bust out The Most Dangerous Commercials and 1000 Witnesses for the encore alongside a few other hits. I was taken aback at first on the Juturna tour when they didn't play anything else from any other era of the band. I was fine with it cuz it was my eighth time seeing the band, so I didn't need to see songs like Get Out or The Difference Between. I actually thought it was really cool in hindsight that they only played Juturna-era songs. But I have a difficult time seeing them only playing those two b-sides on the OLG tour. Neither song gives a powerful finish like House Of Leaves could on the Juturna tour. I can see them opening with those two songs, then breaking out Act Appalled, In Fear And Faith, Get Out, Sharp Practice, and/or Schema as well. They seem to play 17-18 song sets, so with OLG and the two b-sides there'd be 14 songs. One from every other album would be cool. I am really long-winded and this post feels so totally unnecessary, but whatever haha. I love this band so much and I'm so excited to meet them tonight and to see them play this album in full. I really don't care what their encore is like. I still can't believe I'm seeing this full album tonight, especially since they've never played Carry Us Away before this tour.
Speaking of b-sides from the OLG era...I know these songs were put out on later releases, but I seem to recall somebody in the band, or someone with a close enough tie to them, in 2010/2011 say that Stare Like You'll Stay and Backmask were written during the OLG sessions. Sleep Underground was written during that time too and was performed back during that album cycle. Birds Sounds is another one that Anthony said has been around since OLG and lyrically is about Colin's mindframe during the writing/recording process of OLG
That was just me ITT or the ap thread parroting info I read from Circaboard that came straight from the band in various interviews.
Oh shit, I never realized those were from On Letting Go. I need to find a good quality download somewhere for both now. Thanks!
Oh shit hahaha. Yeah I'd read a lot of stuff over there back in 2010-2012 or so and I've never tried to fact check anything because I have little to no idea where to start over there. It was so long ago. Really glad that I wasn't just misremembering anything they said. I thought it was really cool that Stare Like You'll Stay and Backmask were written during OLG
Also, we know the AG solo tracks, Miracle Sun and Devils Song, we're originally concieved as Circa tracks. So I half expect full band versions of those. Also, a track called Cowboy Song was performed live a bunch and it rules. Feels like they wrote a whole bunch of stuff back then in that era Then there's a whole bunch of stuff from the bsn era that has still never seen the light of day
