Appendage rules in the way that Intuit Sessions rules. And so do 1,000 Witnesses/Most Dangerous Commercials. So many great b-sides from this band.
Juturna On Letting Go Violent Waves Blue Sky Noise / Two Dreams Descensus / The Amulet I don't think they have a "bad" record, though. Just some that are better than others.
OK now I have no choice but to do B-side rankings, at least for the ones I have. Handshakes at Sunrise Most Dangerous Commercials 1000 Witnesses Indra's Net Suspending Disbelief Backmask Stare Like You'll Stay Everyway Lazarus Awake in a Dream Dark Pools Battle, My Love Metanoia Nobody Can Change Bad Heart
Bad Heart was somehow a letdown initially, but it's also such a nice song after all! and Lipton Witch on the other side of that split; one of the best tracks coming from SDRE's already amazing discography - what pretty much got pushed thanks to Brendan, as far as I remember (SDRE otherwise had that song shelved)
Music Ranking Juturna OLG 2 Dreams Amulet Violent Waves Descensus Appendage BSN I don't think they can ever top Juturna - its just a perfect debut.
It's always wild to see such a wide range of experiences and rankings when it comes to a band's discography. Just goes to show how special this band really was. Juturna On Letting Go The Amulet Blue Sky Noise Two Dreams Descensus Violent Waves
Just for completion's sake, I think you are missing.... I Can't Make It Julian Buddha Learned Some Shit Portishead Jam Califone Pearly Jam Jam Resentment if you count Demos: Airplane Dance 100 Steps Bye Bye New Sun Nice To Meet You Memetic Shield Time & Place We Forgot The Dentist (not sure what this is) if you count covers: Love Buzz (Nirvana) Scentless Apprentice (Nirvana) Drain You (Nirvana) and then, of course, all the Patreon stuff
Yeah I was trying to stick with full studio quality stuff... except Handshakes, which is too god tier to leave off (and it's great quality for a demo tbf). There are some gems on this list though if you ignore recording qualtiy, esp a few of the OLG era demos.
This is my fav by the way I'm not ranking albums because I haven't listened in a while outside of the first two
Just saw Anthony play in Abq on his current So Long, Avalon tour.. with Geoff and Kurt. Absolutely amazing. He played some Saosin and Circa songs as well. Acoustic 7 years and a full band like chill jazz version of Get Out, plus more. He sounded amazing and so did the band.
take with a grain of salt obviously but someone on reddit said Nick was at the show yesterday. maybe nature is healing
