A dude in senior year of high school showed me Tiger and the Duke and that basically lead to me finding Circa and Saosin. I never got to thank that guy, sadly.
My favorite memory of CS was seeing them in '05. They were in Des Moines and happen to be playing while Warped Tour was going on in Minneapolis(all the local scene kids go to that). Maybe 20 people showed up, so they played all of Juturna.
My favorite memory of seeing Circa Survive is either seeing them play at the King of Prussia mall for the Journey’s Backyard BBQ back in 2012 or seeing them play a secret show to 150 people, if that, at Boot And Saddle in Philly in 2015. I mean in favor of that secret show because I couldn’t believe I was lucky and fortunate to be there and seeing Nesting Dolls live was next level
Side note, I’m doing one of those “rank every song” things and I’ve included their seven albums and the following songs: Suspending Disbelief Handshakes at Sunrise The Most Dangerous Commercials 1000 Witnesses Sleep Undergound Stare Like You’ll Stay Every Way Backmask Lazarus Battle My Love Nobody Can Change Bad Heart Awake In a Dream Dark Pools Indra’s Net Metanoia Do I include the unique demos that were released on the 10-year anniversary albums for their first three albums, or just go with everything I’ve included already? Feeling like I shouldn’t get lost in the weeds of including demos because then I’ll feel inclined to rank the demos they’ve released through their Patreon and idk if I wanna go that far. At least the songs listed above were officially released, most of them played, almost all have good-sounding recordings and clearly made it past the demo stage, etc But what do people think? I’m sure once I post my ranking that others will want to post theirs too
Blue Sky Noise will forever be in my top ten album lists. I love that album to death and hearing it live was spiritual haha
I think there are some things I would slightly change with my rankings, but it looks very accurate for the most part

I feel like I need to do it a few more times lol. I don't fully agree but the top 20 and bottom 20 feels right in no particular order
Are these lists of their entire catalog, damn. I don't think I could do it haha Now look up all those songs on your Apple Music and see if most played is the same as your list. That would be cool if that was still possible. Or it might be, not sure.
it's one of those fortnights where I only listen to this band and think about what a body of work they left. like even my least favourite album has several moments that totally eclipse what their peers were capable of. creativity and consistency of these guys was just off the charts
Had the same thought over the weekend, their entire discography holds up incredibly well. Even my least favorite album from them, has some amazing songs on it. If these guys never make new music again, they surely left a great mark on music history.
Seeing this in my notifications last night reminded me that Anthony was in my dream last night and he was talking about Violent Waves being bad and I told him it was one of my favorites, along with Boom. Done. He seemed nice lol
I had a VIP ticket when I saw them in late 2014 on their Descensus tour and I remember overhearing Nick talking with a fan about Violent Waves. I guess the conversation was about why the album wasn’t well-represented in their setlists because I distinctly remember Nick expressing that he was surprised by the lukewarm response from fans (presumably at shows) after the album did well critically with reviewers.
Great album. Seven of their best songs are from that era. Arguably my third favorite album they've done behind OLG and BSN
