Descensus is their most aggressive album and would probably be the most fun live if they played one album front to back. So many tracks just get me moving like Child Of The Desert, Only The Sun, Sovereign Circles, and the title track. Plus it has Nesting Dolls which is a top five song of theirs. I love it.
I love the two most recent EP's a lot. Even bought a physical cd of the release of Two Dreams. Curitiba Our Last Shot Late Night Gone For Good Buzzhenge Probably one of my favorite releases since BSN, still enjoy all the other stuff immensely
When it came out I’d have said BSN but these days it’s juturna. OLG is even more iconic and sounds absolutely perfect but I find juturna a bit more consistent with a higher floor
Honestly Two Dreams to me is like a perfect mix of all of their releases to me. Maybe a little less Juturna and On Letting Go, but of recent Circa. So good.
This is one of those bands where someone can say any album is their favorite and I’m like, “yeah I can see that.”
Steve and Nick have always made for a great rhythm section, but they really brought the heat on that album. Some of their best work
I find I rarely listen to Juturna now, but I think I just overplayed it, as it was such a big part of my life at the time. BSN is probably the one I listen to the most across the discog, but I also have loved everything they've done, so I tend to listen to the more recent releases generally.
I need to spin Violent Waves. Loved that one when it came out. Took a few listens to click, but when it did.
I remember loving all the random Saosin songs I found through Limewire... I knew there was a Cove and an Anthony, at the time, but didnt know who was who... (The Black EP was out, but not the first LP yet... I remember I bought that at Walmart like the release week on CD.) I then kind of lost hope for a while about Anthony because I was still like 14-15 and didnt know about Circa until On Letting Go came out... and I was like... Holy fuck... THIS IS WHERE HE WENT??!?!?! Retro fitted Juturna in to my life immediately and then was a diehard Circa fan since.
Goodness. I bought intuit sessions the day it came out and never stopped. Seen them so many times. Still remember the first show touring on Juturna.
I’ll never forget buying the black EP at a local mall Hot Topic, then the Self Titled album at the same Hot Topic when it moved locations, and if I remember correctly it was a special edition cd with a sleeve or something that only Hot Topic had. And then buying Juturna at Sam goody before it closed in the same mall. Ahh, good ol’ memories.
I learned about Circa from the Act Appalled music video/Juturna commercial on Fuse. Didn’t like it at first, thought Anthony’s voice was weird. It wasn’t until I heard In Fear and Faith that I “got” it. I’m not sure when I realized Anthony used to be in Saosin. I LOVED self titled when it came out, and I imagine I went back and downloaded the EP, but never loved it like I did self titled. I probably downloaded the EP and the first TSOAF EP around the same time. That TSOAF EP resonated with me a lot more than the first Saosin EP.
A friend burned me a copy of Saosin's Translating the Name. Once I heard AG scream on 7 years, I lost my shit and have been a follower of his to this day.
I first got introduced to the ACU (Anthony Cinematic Universe) by hearing Circa Survive’s “The Greatest Lie” on a magazine sampler CD in fall 2007. I had never heard a voice like this and was shocked to learn it belonged to a man. I don’t remember how but I then discovered Saosin the next summer, and immediately got obsessed with TTN and S/T. I believe they were about to put out the Grey EP.
I first learned about Circa through Saosin. I fell in love with Saosin in 2008 with their self-titled and Translating the Name. Of course, that eventually led me to checking out Circa in sometime in 2009, but I had a difficult time getting into them at first. Eventually, got into Circa in late 2009 with Juturna and On Letting Go, then Blue Sky Noise sealed the deal for me and they became one of my favorite bands, then later becoming my favorite band. Both Saosin and Circa changed music for me, personally, as I came from more mainstream alt rock, hard rock, and nu metal before discovering Saosin and Circa. The rest is history.
