Haven't heard Bad Heart in a while - btw. too bad it's not on spotify over here anymore, but it's still an ok song, though whenever I hear it it just brings me to listen to the other side of that split with SDRE and be so fucking thankful to Brendan for getting them to release that song, seeing as I heard on a podcast he was responsible for getting them on board and only wanted to release anything from Circa to have that SDRE b-side out there ;D which on the other hand is just top tier!
Finally got around to watching their final set that hate5six filmed and I miss this band so much. Would have loved to see Two Dreams songs live
Sorry for the bump but revisiting The Amulet and it’s still fantastic. Forgot how much I love The Hex and into Flesh and Bone.
Hella hella pretty. Once I got over the initial disappointment of it not sounding identical to either of the first two albums, I was legitimately listening to this thing like 2-3 times a day for months after it came out.
Well seeing as how The Amulet is their 6th album.. I would hope it wouldnt sound like the first two with BSN, Violent Waves and Descensus in between lol.. I always felt Amulet was a more of a round two for that Descensus sound.
When you think of this band’s discography do you think of two dreams as an album or nah? I go back and forth on it, I actually think the project would have been better received if it had been pitched as just their next full length
Two Dreams is tough because like, I experienced the EP’s first, but I also consider it my favorite Circa album. At this point I think I view it as an album that came out in two parts but I also can’t deny when I listen to it that it sounds like two EPs more so than a cohesive LP. So idk. It’s a weird one. I love it though.
I didn't listen to them as separate EPs, so it feels like a cohesive full-length to me Also, I do think The Amulet feels most like On Letting Go, maybe a little Violent Waves in there.
I just view it as an era. I’m never going to refer to those songs by the names of the two EPs. For the sake of less syllables and words, I just see it as Two Dreams and as an album
Kinda wish Two Dreams was released as an LP. Reason being that Death was so much better than Love that I rarely revisit the latter. But there's still solid stuff on Love, and if they were mixed up among an LP tracklist I think I'd appreciate the whole collection more.
Amulet rules, need to listen again soon. Probably my 2nd favorite behind OLG. I do think it shares a lot with that album that BSN, VW, and Descensus don’t.
Idk how far off I am with this, but I always thought The Amulet sounded like if On Letting Go had the structure of Blue Sky Noise.
