Violent Waves was just put back up on Apple Music. re: SDRE/CS split, the songs are still available to download from Qobuz, so i purchased them there and uploaded them to my Apple Music library.
I've got them somewhere on my hard drive. But "Lipton Witch" was an essential part of one of my spotify playlists ;d ;d that's also why I should probably go back to downloading everything there is
Usually it goes up when the next splitsville gets announced but it's long overdue. Luckily someone re-uploaded it I'm still waiting on my vinyl... EDIT: Official uploads are now available
This was my favourite of that session. So good. Drift is kind of the Circa farewell song for me. It's the kind of song that's a real catharsis.
Circa's come heroine is gorgeous. It's interesting...huge Touche fan, but I think translating Anthony's melody lines to screams is pretty difficult. Alternatively, translating Jeremy's screams to melody lines is something else.
Would love a download to all the video sessions they've released if anyone happens to have one? Even just audio would be splendid.
Their Patreon Discord is shutting down, and I’m not surprised at all. A surprisingly toxic place considering what Circa are like..
Not at all surprised. I hung out there for a couple months earlier this year and it was truly toxic, largely due to men. Felt like I was surrounded by people who frequent 4chan and reddit. Not to mention one of the mods there was such a huge piece of shit
I've never been to discord, but in general gotta say I've met a lot of very friendly Circa fans on instagram, I still keep touch with some of them
I will say, I got to know a couple cool people through their discord. They were just a bit few and far between there
This talk suddenly made me remember Circa Board. Used to lurk in here in the lead up to Blue Sky Noise.
I remember the Circa board. Kind of wish it was still around. I was around there during the BSN and VW eras. Thought it was a nice little hub to learn more details about the writing/recording process of their music. I’ll never forget that picture of a whiteboard with the working titles of songs from the BSN era and everyone trying to figure out which song was which based on what made the album and what didn’t.
