a mental health crisis isn’t all that vague…hell of a lot more than we get as far as a reason for most cancellations.
and yeah now reading that statement it’s literally right there in plain detail what actually happened. weird people have been acting like it’s unknown. the only question mark is if the band was upset he decided to tour as a solo act so soon after all that, which is honesty fair, but also fair that if Anthony felt ready he had every right to do the solo tour. there’s no right or wrong side here just a bunch of unfortunate circumstances that turned out the way it did. obviously we have plenty to look forward to from Anthony but I hope the other guys either make music or do the things they want to do whatever it may be.
As I've said before, to me it seems pretty obvious there is a vast difference between going out to play an extensive tour celebrating a beloved album, which deals with incredibly difficult emotions and which is incredibly demanding as a vocalist, and then going out to play a much smaller solo tour where you are not necessarily the main draw and you get to choose a set that feels comfortable. I dont think it's too hard to understand how Anthony could feel mentally fit for one and not the other.
I just don’t understand why any time needs to be spent speculating or inferring about what Anthony’s mental health crisis was specifically about when he’s been way more open about traumatic details of his life than most musicians are. From the time A Dream About Love was released to the time the BSN tour was cancelled, if you read the tea leaves of the Dream EPs, kept up with some of their interviews, and followed them on social media or their patreon, it’s pretty clear that Anthony and this band were not in a good place. We may never know the specific details as to why they weren’t in a good place, but we also aren’t owed those details so I think it’s odd that people want to make this all about the lyrical content on BSN as if Anthony has never written other lyrics, both for Circa and his solo work, detailing traumatic events in his life.
ok i think all superfluous virtues are signaled now. but unexpectedly not without more accessory speculation from the professed anti speculators. this is that content.
its weird they played Drift full on with guitars. i still need to see that live session they did for the patreon.
Anthony's been very open about things, I don't think there's much speculation here. Its dotted around interviews, tweets, articles, concerts, etc. What we don't know is exactly what the straw was that broke the camels back. Lots of stuff happened though, and plenty of stuff that suggests the other guys in the band fell out with Anthony. Brendan is one we know has, which is sad. Hopefully time heals their friendship, even if they don't re-form.
I imagine it’ll be released on YouTube soon enough considering they released the Imposter Syndrome live video
am i dumb or has violent waves been removed from spotify. sorry if this has been talked abt before; tried searching around the site and couldnt find anything
